Located in North Fambridge, in a historic building, 24 km from Chelmsford Train Station, The Ferry Boat Inn is a sustainable bed and breakfast with a garden and bar. With inner courtyard views, this accommodation provides a patio. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station.The location is remote, but in a charming location, ideal for walkers and bird watchers. Rooms are modern and clean, but poorly insulated. Because it was cold and wet while we were there, windows were closed, and we didn't have the full effect of the people enjoying the lovely terrace. I don't believe they have A/C, and no screens (for fellow Americans info!). Service at pub was excellent and breakfast was excellent, except you have to order ahead for every day you're there. Not the best if you're staying several days. We also hosted a large dinner group, and food was very good overall, but on the expensive side.
